After the Christmas recess, Councillors met on the 10th January 2012 for their first meeting of the New Year with a full agenda to discuss.

FINANCE -January is when the precept is agreed for the financial year 2012/13. After lengthy discussions Councillors agreed that in the current economic climate there should be no increase, and the amount would remain at £7262 the same as 2011/12.  The Clerk anticipated that approx. £5000 would be carried forward into the next financial year as savings made by Councillors undertaking some of the village maintenance have helped to keep costs down and the accounts looking healthy.

THE PARISH PLAN STEERING GROUP is now in the final stages of completing the Plan which will be submitted to the Parish Council in February, before publication in early spring.  All members of the Group will heave a sigh of relief at a successful conclusion of what has been a lengthy and at times difficult project. Thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to get to this stage.

PLANNING -Many planning applications have been dealt with over the year some with no objection, others needing detailed investigation before sending comments to the planning department.

PLAY AREA - Plans for improvements to some of the play equipment in the playground are progressing slowly. Consultations with local children via the School Council have been made, some of their ideas were excellent, others very imaginative and slightly ambitious!

DOG FOULING is again rearing its ugly head.  There are numerous dog bins around the village.  PLEASE USE THEM.  The dog warden has been contacted, and offenders should be aware that it is a fineable offence if caught allowing dogs to foul public areas.

DIAMOND JUBILEE – The Parish Council hope local organisations will be willing to organise some event to mark this occasion, and are happy to support all ideas.

REMINDER – Local organisations wishing to circulate their events to a larger audience than just this Parish have the advantage of our local correspondent Mr Bob Jones e-mail –rljones33@hotmail.com who is willing to circulate details to the local press.  Please use this facility, or lose it !

Annual Bulletin 2011/12

  • DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PLAYGROUND

  • There have been more complaints about dogs fouling the public areas in the village, particularly the recreation ground.  There are plenty of dog bins, please use them.  It is an offence to allow dogs to foul public footpaths, and very unpleasant for anyone playing on the field. Thank you for your consideration.

  •  When taking dogs over the golf course public footpaths, please do not allow them to roam over the fairways.
